Sunset: Epsilon Eridani B-8 by arisechicken117 Sunset: Epsilon Eridani B-8 by arisechicken117
I finally cranked out another space art piece. It's been awhile.

Saw some kid holding a CD in a store of a planet reflecting off of water, so that's kinda where I got with, but with a less fictional twist.

Epsilon Eridani is a star system relatively close to earth at about 10.5 Light years. It's the closest known system that has a planet- a Jovian one of course. But we all know, most jovians can have a large amount of moons. This jovian just so happens to sit within the appropriate zone around it's home star to support life.

Life on the moons perhaps??

Enjoy! :D

Love your use of the liquify effect.
The horizon is so well transitioned, I love it...
And such a nice coloring of the sky.
Lighting quirk on the rings looks fancy!

Imagine being on a planet where we could look out at the night sky and see this.

Nice idea but the planet and moon should have extreme glows and then the landscape will be brighter!

Yeah you may be right about that landscape. But I wanted it to be very dark since its and uninhabited planet

Simple...But that's what makes it feel real I think, since in this situation you wouldn't see much more, and the phase and brightness of the planets goes well too. I probably would have made the reflections a little darker, the popular belief is that reflections are as bright, or even brighter than the actual thing yet it's actually darker (since some of the light gets absorbed by the water) But it might just be me or my monitor ^^;

no youre right. I'm going to make the reflections dimmer. It also depends on what angle your looking at the reflection. A more aerial view would be dimmer as opposed to lower or closer to it would be brighter. BUT I'm going to lower the opacity a bit and resubmit!
