Requiem by arisechicken117 Requiem by arisechicken117
So I've been working extensively on this piece, and I am extremely satisfied with the results. I had to redo the rings several times until it blended nicely with the image.

Total time: 13 hours

Location: Mid Rim X1-4
System: Caldurus
Planet: Mulyshi
Moons: Hope (lg) Faith (sm) Journey (Tiny)

The title is addicted to this piece :) the soft green-blue glow is very relaxing ^_^
The space gases are simply stunning! O.O thet seems a baroque decoration.

Yes this piece was intended to be more relaxed and calm due to the color effects. Requiem simply fit the piece. This is one of my most satisfying and complete piece yet.

Well if you look at my earlier pieces, they aren't very good. I myself never thought I would ever get good at space art. But its all trial and error. After making hundreds of planets (literally) you're forced to get better each time. I can easily whip up a good planet in 10 minutes. It's all about knowing what you're doing and having astronomical knowledge to back it up.

Looks really really cold, like a rocky version of Uranus, but I gues sthe star does seem a lot closer :sun: true that the shadow casted on rings appears extremely sharp from this distance, but I think it could have been a little softer because there's such a soft, hazy feel about the whole thing, but even if it was it woudn't have to be too much so it's not the biggest deal :p the rings themselves look great though 8-)

Thanks! thats actually an interesting claim, I didn't really think about the sharpness of the shadow on the rings. In reality, there would be a definite fuzzy edge of the shadow like all shadows. Thanks for pointing it out!

Nice, it reminds me of one of my pieces that I made!
The rings are pretty cool and so is the sun in the distance!
I think the planet in the foreground (the big moon) is a bit too big and the dark side's city light effect is a bit too strong though. but it's still nice! :D

noise on rings is looking a bit odd, reminds me some tutorials for rings. that's only one negative aspect of your work. rest is breathtaking, espacially coordination between rings, rings coulours and light source. well done mate, +fav

Wow everything in the piece of art is superb! I really love the planet texture of the lower left planet! May I ask what you used for texture?

Also the rings are spectacular. Awesome job!
