Exodus by arisechicken117 Exodus by arisechicken117
I totally forgot about this piece. I stumbled upon it when I was scraping through my old files on my flash drive. There was a lot of work I put into it so I decided to finish it and post it!

This one is a simple gas giant, riding far beyond the Oort cloud of our Solar system. Based on scientific calculations and gravity bulges, scientists have hypothesized this planet as factual. They gave it the name "Tyche."

Enjoy!

Nice piece. I was under the impression that Tyche was supposed to be *in* the Oort cloud, though. Wasn't that the biggest difference (other than the range of masses) between Tyche and Nemesis?

I'm still holding out for the existence of either, personally. Okay, so they probably don't exist, but they haven't technically ruled out the possibility of mirror matter…

If tyche exist, why is there no proof of it!
I think it's just a mythe!
But, your picture is really awesome!

Nice! I was reading that if it exists it should be detectable in the WISE infrared survey but it might take a few years to find it .... who knows - there might be more than one planet sized object out that far ;)

its more then just planet sized... It could be 3x the size of Jupiter. and Jupiter is already freakin massive

I meant big enough to qualify as planets, bigger than stuff like Quoar or Sedna - there's lots of big chunks out there, but maybe we'll find something big enough to be interesting [which Tyche definitely would be :D]

I like the piece, it's very impressive, but the only thing I "don't get" is the perspective of those curved lines (sorry I don't know its name, are they asteroids?). I think it's not a problem of the image but a problem of mine haha

The "lines: as you call them are dust, and ice around the gas giant.

Reminds me of a pic I like [link] and I wish if you made the planets' lightning like the ones in it! Especially the moon.

But the light source in mine is so dim. There would barely be any reflection at all.

I never heard of that. The idea that there's another gas giant in the Solar System is exciting though, way more than just another Pluto-clone discovered :XD: I'm already wondering if it has any interesting features or colours. I'm guessing though it may be like a dark version of Uranus :hmm: still, we might go back to nine official planets if this is confirmed :omg:

And to think I almost didn't bother clicking this, I learned something new and noticed another usage of my stock :D

thats why my rendition is grayish. Theres not much out there in the Oort Cloud besides, dust, asteroids, ice, and comets. Not enough compounds to give it a specific color. But who knows! It also could be 3x larger then Jupiter! :omg:

If the planet is 3x larger than Jupiter, then it has an effect on the sun and the other planets! I think tyche doesn't excist.

Again, "Theoretical." Though, objects that far out do not have as large of an effect on the sun as you'd think.

They suggest its existence because we have comets and other asteroids that float into our inner system. The oort cloud and various belts of our system are remnants of the formation of the solar system. For an object being tossed back into the inner system from way out in the oort cloud- there needs to be something much larger pushing them out.

Ahh, planet x is it? I've been thinking about making a picture of it. Kinda want it do it from earths perspective as it nears the planet, showing all the debris it would bring with it. Any way, the picture looks amazing sir. I love the lighting through the rings.

No not planet x. Its an actual planet that is orbiting our sun. Its not that mysterious planet that is suppose to crash into BS. lol. Tyche is a hypothetical Gas Giant that dwells within the Oort cloud of our solar system.
