Divine Wind by arisechicken117 Divine Wind by arisechicken117
MMMm so after playing Halo: Reach so much, I really wanted to make a tribute to Halo. So here it is, finally. "Divine Wind"

Forerunners built these massive structures closer to large planets to have a near-unlimited raw material supply at disposal.

This is the precise second when Installation 06 is set to fire.

I spent a lot of time on planetary and moon detail. Since there were no good images of halos that I could find, I had to suffer a bit and make my own. Wasn't very easy, but I think it looks pretty good.

I like it a lot, some great detail and very nice work, but I'd honestly be a little bit hesitant to call it a Halo: Reach or Halo tribute. It would've been nice to see the halo in the foreground or at least have a larger impact on the image, the fact that you made it yourself is very nice though. However, other than the ring appearing in the picture, this may as well just be a really great piece of space art with nothing to do with halo.

Understandable, I did notice after a while that the ring seems to be drifting out of focus. Perhaps i shall make it larger. FYI, I also made another halo-realted image. its called "Signal" so find that in my gallery and tell me what you think.

It's a pretty sweet 'scape, I really like the nightlights, it feels very organic and reminds me of a spider-web. How did you construct the sun? I really like that bit :)

The sun was just a brush i made out of multiple screen overlays and shaped to the way i want it! :D

I use parts of this tutorial to create my stars. [link] It's quite helpful for making detailed and bright stars. After you make your star using that tut, make a elliptical marquee around the star, fill it with a bright color, set it to screen, and then use gaussian blur a few times, deselect the marquee, and use gaussian again, and voila!
